Temp Licensed Social Worker

"As a Queer, Nonbinary provider, I seek to foster a safe space for all individuals to be their most authentic selves. I hold firm to my commitment to helping the current and next generations of LGBTQ+ individuals heal from the trauma associated with their marginalized status in today’s society."

About Me...

"A professor in graduate school once told me that no one finds their way to the field of social work because everything in their lives went according to plan. I am no exception. As someone who lives with Bipolar Disorder and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, I understand the impact that quality mental health care can have on your life, livelihood, and relationships. I became a Mental Health and Addictions Counselor in order to pay it forward and help others with similar struggles make positive steps toward better-managing life’s challenges. In addition to earning my Master of Social Work degree from IU South Bend in 2023, I also draw on four years of experience working in Community Mental Health as a mental health technician, case manager, and skills trainer for adults and youth ages 14 to 26 living with severe mental illness.

At Center for Positive Change, I provide a range of services including play therapy for ages 4 and up, individual counseling for youth and adults, family counseling, group substance abuse counseling, individual parenting education, and individual family violence prevention for the LGBTQ+ community. I specialize in helping individuals and families draw from their existing strengths to grow and discover new pathways toward mental health and wellness. I also have a strong passion for serving the LGBTQ+ community. As a Queer, Nonbinary provider, I seek to foster a safe space for all individuals to be their most authentic selves. I hold firm to my commitment to helping the current and next generations of LGBTQ+ individuals heal from the trauma associated with their marginalized status in today’s society."
